Planted feet on the ground

Stretched out so thin, could be played like a string

But I’m standing here on the ground

Not rooted but I wasn’t planning on moving at all

I’d like to think I’m mature

Try to be the adult and stop complaining

but keep a foot in the door

Being pulled in every direction while waiting alone
