There's Them and There's Us

A long time ago we were both big stars,

I can still see our names up in lights;

Nobody else performed an act like ours,

So we travelled the world, saw the sights!

We were loved and adored,

The crowds would gather in hordes

To catch a glimpse of us time and again!

We were the top of the heap,

We were the shepherds - not sheep,

Because there’s two types of people;

There’s Us and there’s Them.

We travelled for years and years; a sell-out tour,

But all good things come to an end.

Soon nobody came to see our act no more,

Because our act was no longer on trend!

People shunned us and shoo’d us,

In the streets children boo’d us,

Turned their backs, walked away in disgust!

The general public had turned,

As far as we were concerned.

That was the first time we learned;

That there’s Them and there’s Us.

It’s hard to bear,

That world out there,

Where people like us are despised!

Beyond that gate is

All the folks that hate us,

So take our advice and

Stick with the friends you can trust!

It’s better to stay here with us!
