The frozen lake

And you who ran out on the ice

To see if it could really hold you

And then to catch a glimpse of moonlight

I saw you run

Across the ice

Towards The Moon

You turned your head

Said “I’ll be coming back real soon”

Your face it frightened me a bit

I waited

Till The Moon became The Sun

Then I took the last train home

Hoping you would have caught the light

And somehow made it to the other side

I climbed the frozen willow tree

Till I could not get any higher

I screamed your name across the lake

Till both my lungs were breathing fire
