Stride

This is the path that I follow Cause everything else has been leaving me hollow Crave a better tomorrow I've felt like I've lost it's a hard pill to swallow When they don't wanna see the good in you When this is all that you believe in and you see it through With everybody on the other side just peeking through It only makes you want to justify the way you speak your truth This is all I am A gap-toothed grin in a shell of a man Pulling past all the pretenses put in the plan Won't put it past them if people are pulling my hand In their own direction But my progression is by my discretion Trials and lessons never closed my path So I keep trying my best, they won't hold me back I learned to take it all in stride One day at a time So step by step I climb This path of mine So with the weight of the world on my shoulders And when my heart couldn't get much colder I won't let my fears control my happiness When I can only do my best to go on I'll try to stay strong And run forever I won't let these fears control my mind state And hold me back from finding my own way Am I seeing light while fleeing in the dark? Am I paralyzed?
