I’m back here caught in a tension

Chasin’ a glimmer in the corner of my eye.

And these weeds aren’t last years… but an echo…

We’re back in town… 

Do you remember when we first blew in’15 a clean 7 shot

To the thing  that started this writing

In this hallowed apartment?

…got my window back ...same back yard… I still can’t believe it!

Sometimes I’m right there hearin’ all that “when” clear… 

As far from you now as you were from her “then” here…

I’m back here caught in a tension  

Chasin’ a glimmer in the corner of my eye.

And these weeds aren’t last years… but an echo…

Always wondered why, talking to them felt so strange…

But now I know while they sprout lookin same 

What seeds really are always bears out in time

I’m still here caught in attention 

Catchin’ the patterns left behind as they chase wind 

And these weeds aren’t last years… but an echo…

I’m gonna find every piece I can.

Fingers crossed in the heat, river wet I leap… 

…and I know… but I still try… 

It’s so weird… Seven years…   I still just want them to hear… 

Swimming out to that island…

Pray’n there’s still a rope swing hangin there… 

…there’s a new cast. Some of ’em stayed,

And I know some’ll go…

But the Ocoee and the trees still praise

And I sing with ’em green when I’m quiet at home. 

I’m still here caught in attention. 

All that I write is just me trying to catch you…

And these weeds aren’t last years… 

But I’m still here… I’m still out here tryin….
