गाने
Took some old tin roof, hammer and nails Creosote poles and cedar fence rails
Spent one whole day and an afternoon
Puttin it together and when he was through
You could just tell he was proud of himself
To hell with paint he liked the rust
So that was that and there it was
Grandpa’s shed
You could see the dust, you could hear the wind
Through the cracks in the walls where the sun came in
There were tractor parts, old Folgers cans
Full of nuts and bolts, and odds and ends
Was a wonderland to a kid my size
It’s where I’d go, it’s where I’d dream
Smelled like hay and axle grease
Grandpa’s shed
I close my eyes and there I am
At night by the light of a Coleman lamp
Just me and him, tinkerin on an old Ford truck
Drank my first beer, had my first smoke
Got my first kiss and my heart broke
It’s where I cried when I had to let him go
Now grandpas gone and I’m all gone
But that sheds still as full as it ever was
Old barbed wire rolls on rusted reels
A copperhead skin on a lawnmower wheel
And a million memories collecting dust
A monument to a small town kid
That sweet old man and the things they did
Grandpas shed
Back when life was good as it could get
