There once was a theme park northwest of town

With twenty shows and a dinky water slide

A laughing joker you might ride

The bugs bunny and the tweety bird, too.

Simple mascots will take hold of you.

The countless switchbacks you might find.

Queueing up until you can ride.

A little boardwalk and a Ferris wheel.

Made twenty-million and added a ride.

Oops, I dropped my cotton candy!

Let’s have fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun

Where people may be.

It’s better than a hole or a bump on a log

Or when you’re just plain lazy.

We might as well say it now, life is a carousel.

Some of us have to compromise.

Blew up a quarry a mesquite or two

A change of ownership, point of view

Let’s bring in a few more rides

The Superman and the poltergeist

The silly little Scooby-Doo laser ride

For all the little ones and the wimpy guys.

It surely made it on the evening news

Within nothing else to cover but the local zoo.
