The rush

The feeling of falling

Enough to make me feel nothing

The one thing that I can’t let go of

But I think that I am starting to wear thin again

No sense of direction

And I can’t keep coming back to this old friend

Back to this dead end

I won’t let the fear of the fallout

Rob me of clarity

I know what it’s like at the bottom

And this means more to me

Than always fighting uphill

I would rather listen and be still

In the moment not so concerned with

Where i’ve been and where I’m going

Set my sights on the here and now

Set aside the vicious cycle

Got so used to always staying down

Somehow I’ve found

That I can’t keep coming back to this old friend
