I can’t remember exactly when but I must have been about 4 or 5

I couldn’t see over the counter top cuz the sun filled my eyes

That apron you’d wear, the cinnamon and spice in the air

Humming your favorite tune, while I did my best to wait all afternoon

For you to say babe, I got something for you….

10 years later, 2 feet taller, first time I fell in love

I’m leaning on that counter top telling you I think I may have met the one

You listened and you smiled, I’m sure you knew it would only last a little while when my heart broke in two, I ran to the safest place I knew

To hear babe, I got something for you

It won’t cure a broken heart, but it’s a damn good place to start

She poured a glass a milk, some coffee for herself

I’ve heard it’s funny how time slips away, your golden hair a slightly different shade

The kitchen the counter top remains the same and I know I don’t come around enough these days (but when I do)
