The Abyss

You know it's a little hard

To see the light when you've been in the dark

Broken mirrors and shiny scars

A sky full of fallen stars

A canvas of black and grey

Parts of me I wish I could pray away

But instead I'm stuck in this disarray

A life of disappointment I can't escape

Sometimes I feel

I can't go on

It's an amalgamation of fear

And nonchalance

I wish I could just float away

On the problems of yesterday

But I know I wouldn't get far away

So I stay inside of the mess I've made

A candle is burning bright

To bring my inner darkness to light

But I can't quiet the demon inside

So I learn to just give up the fight

Sometimes I feel

I can't go on

It's an amalgamation of fear

And nonchalance

Sometimes the traumas don't heal but we learn to get through life with them
