Aurora Borealis?! At This Time of Year?

Tall, strong and rotten to the core

I'm just surprised this hasn't reared its ugly head before

Things don't have a way of working themselves out

That's just you unwittingly reaping the fruits of my self-doubt

Fast, firm and crumbling to the touch

I'm not surprised you haven't let this influence you much

How much pain should somebody endure for another

And how much integrity does one retain to recover?

Mom, I heard you asking who will carry me

But no one's strong enough

For that responsibility

I just hope it shows

I'm trying hard

Not to be selfish

I promise, I know

It is a far-fetched

Goal to accomplish
