Em noites de lua cheia

Ouvem-se os lobos uivar

O meu cão guarda o rebanho

Enquanto eu faço o jantar

In nights of full moon,

The howling wolves can be heard.

My dog keeps the herd,

While I cook dinner.

Fui à lenha

Para me aquecer

Que o inverno já vem chegando

E nas casas nas aldeias

O frio já vem entrando

I went to get firewood,

To keep myself warm

(because) winter is arriving

And in the houses in the villages

The cold is beginning to enter.
