I felt a sound beneath the floor

It wasn't loudjust wrong

The tiles shifted under me

Like they knew I don't belong

A photo fell without the wind

No frame no string no nail

But there it lay a broken grin

But every wall replied

The light turned off before I moved

I never asked it why

The mirror showed me standing still

But blinked before I did

My voice returned in backward form

The vowels all torn and bent

I said I'm fine in syllables

I swore I never meant

The clock repeats a time I missed

My steps are not my own

The floorboards laugh in language lost

The hallway hums alone

A shadow moves before I do

It turns without a sound

The house is breathing through the cracks

But no one's left around
