Well my first love was in Boston

I think about it often

Yeah the brownstones still feel haunted

After all these have passed

Then I found it out in LA

We would kiss all night to Coldplay

But I broke it off in Burbank

Now the east side makes me sad

So I headed down to Nashville

Met a cowboy for a quick thrill

And I’m grateful for that night still

Even though it didn’t last

And then August came in New York Oh I loved and lost and learned more played guitar and found some new chords

and a boy who loves me back

Now I take these memories with me From the west coast across to the northeast all the heartbreaks I’ve had on the backstreets
