Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My father had some great Jazz on vinyl, and cassette tapes in the car : Blue Note compilation, Erroll Garner, Oscar Peterson, Isaac Hayes, Jimmy Smith, Donald Byrd... Later Michael Jackson, James Brown and Marvin Gaye had a major impact on me.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
John Coltrane Quartet, Coltrane (Deluxe Edition)
Marvin Gaye, What's Going On
Various Artists, Black Man’s Cry: The Influence and Inspiration of Fela Kuti
"What's Going On" may be THE masterpiece of black music... total grace all the way, Godly inspiration. Coltrane is the one who touched the closest to heavens, and Fela created a musical universe so special.
