Glory in Life

I've walked upon the marble tiles

Along the broken sidewalk

I've stepped into the hollow halls

Of fallen kings and queens

I've traced my fingers

Along the walls and read the tragedies of old

Sunglasses upon my face

Hiding this pain

Photographs of teenage dreams

Torn to shreds by the misery

But their smiles never faded away

I'll search for glory in this life

Claim the light in every smile

Praise the laugh of every child

And cherish the moments I have found

The world will try to break my heart

Tear me apart and let me down

But it won't stop turning

And I'll just keep on running

Till I find my Glory in Life
