We came to think that we need to control

The world and shape it to fit

Our mentality

But the clock is ticking

The alarm is set to midnight

It all came to be the norm

Like a vicious poison running through the veins of

Humanity

So what’s up with all this vanity?

Disconnected promises and hollow actions

They’re nothing more than useless bullshit we tell ourself

To make us feel good

To make us feel like there’s not much we have to do

We take

But never give back

We can’t

Think this will all be ok

So I’ll just keep my eyes wide shut
