Humans have the tendency to behave like clones of each other, especially within the context of organised groups.
Total free-thinkers seem almost impossible to come by, but those that come the closest are often quickly placed into inappropriate pre-existing ideological boxes. This allows a clone to continue to bask in the bliss of its ignorance and serves to further entrench its obstinance.
We have already created types of digital clones of our ourselves through social media, email, text messaging and gaming avatars.
Digital clones will become more and more advanced using deep-learning algorithms, holograms, 3D printers and perhaps eventually some form of consciousness uploading.
We are soon, therefore, going to enter a post-biological era. We will first, integrate, and then, replace our bodies with artificial materials and technology.
Partly or wholly non-biological clones of other advanced species might already exist elsewhere in the universe.
They may be able to travel between star systems using technology that is not compatible with traditional biological life, as we know it.
Maybe they can harness the physics behind phenomena, such as quantum entanglement, for their communication and transportation.
The effects of atmosphere, radiation and gravity might be irrelevant to artificial clones, allowing them to set foot on almost any planet.
Current and future beings and clones (including our future selves) might be able to harness advanced physics and technology to not only travel through space, but also, through time.
Some of these time travelling entities might already be visiting us,
