Love Letters to the Planet

As I write this letter my dear child

Know that it came from my heart, my experience;

scrapes and falls fumbling to the light,

smiles and tears, miracles in the nick of time.

Life is beautiful, don’t be fooled; it’s heaven on Earth.

It’s why we chose to be here

To experience love, grace, expansion, lessons.

But the time for talk is done

Planet Earth is under attack, by greed and deceit

Read between the lies, take the veil off your eyes

The times call for us to rise,

Be proud of who you are, stand tall, be brave!

 

 

Welcome to earth, my love. This place has it all: the good, the bad and the snugly. There are cities and farms, towers and temples, oceans and mushrooms. There are amazing people we call goats and real goats too. Love is here on earth and hate is just another name for misplaced pain. This is a strange ball of water and fire full of war and peace all at once. Even you and me. We come from the earth and we return to it; it’s all an adventure with no destination and no beginning … Maybe you’ll receive this letter someday ...

 

Resilience: Hey, is that the Ableman?! You planted a million trees in one day with a song!

Ableman: How’d you know that … but wait, I’ve seen you in my kids’ storybook, right?!

Resilience: Yup. But I have to say...I’ve been so down lately … the news is so crazy.

Ableman: Omg... same here … I was just writing a letter to process it all … for a new book of love letters to my child and practices for families everywhere to get through these times...

Resilience: What?! I was just writing a letter inspired by one of my students but I’m sending this out to all kids of the world!

I wish my letter was a wish / come true ... No time to waste with that or this / it’s the fate of the universe / a flowering plot twist until she loves me and a kiss / but everything on earth has been picked / that rona virus, tick-tok goes life’s video flicks flop / click clock and politricks are caught buying life and basic science / fact is, it’s all so fossil foolish / we have a decade to flip the solar switch, eat your local spinach / or we’re all finished like the apocalypse ...

It’s 5G vs 5D, mandatory vs choice, it’s fear and hate vs love and kindness / it’s a chill the planet type ish / wars over nature while nurture is a football field blitz / man can’t do this without a woman’s hips / No babies without ladies, whether it’s blood or crips / Whether it’s GOP or democrats / Artificial or art official intelligence / Can this be the year we make a change to make the planet our first pick / into a new super bowl and nix the ignorance? Love’s in tune with nature isn’t it / a nonviolent communication, circle of 5ths / hear the social-emotional intelligence / a victory without vengeance / The V is not for vendetta, it’s the flick of the wrist like Curry’s tricks, swish!
