When I die

I would like to live in the cracks of a highway

And help hold up anybody going somewhere

Spend all my time wrestling with the weeds and the gravel falling in

The trees fall down and the grass gets mowed beside me

And the tears fall down and the cars get towed aside

I wonder what it's like to live above the cracks

But that's not my way

And speed away all my wasted time

Cause when I'm alone and learning I feel like a firefighter in a city burning
