Monocacy mud

Squeezed between my toes

As I cast out a line

Without a worry on my mind

The fishes are plenty

In this river by my home

Naked to the knees

I can feel them swimmin by

Catoctin critters

Serenade along the shores

Singing to the rhythm

Of her ramblin' flow

In this whole wide world

fill my lungs as I float

Carryin' the scents

Of my mountain home

The ancient forest

Fields of corn and cows

All thrive in it's shadow

With melted snow

Feedin her fresh water

In the winter She'll be frozen

In the springtime She'll be floodin'

But we love her every season
