Body Filled With Hatred

This body filled with hatred

It carries me to sleep

And I wonder if it failed me

As I hear it start to speak

This morsel heaped with danger

It threatens me with grief

And I wish for somewhat less of it

As I feel it’s hatred reap

And I wish you could feel

How the weight behind my eyes, it seems to fill

With every ounce of pain

A part of me is ruined and can’t be saved

Though I’ll grow to love what remains

This body filled with hatred

It carried me through weeks

Of hopelessness and hospitals

Now it rarely screams to leave

This morsel heaped with danger

It stops me seeking dreams

But only if I listen to

The darkness that proceeds

Though I wish you could feel
