Something Fishy

There’s a river that runs through me

In the middle I must stay

With rushing waters on one side

The other stale and gray

Yet the current often draws me

From its course, hard breakaway

White waters soon lure me in

Now the riverbank lives by me

The stream just brought me there

And in the glazing summer sun

A shadow rose and rose above me

And the wind, with its wings
