Newly Aged

I feel newly aged

I think my hair is falling all the way off into tomorrow

You can turn the lights off

You wouldn't wanna see my face when it's all wrinkled and burned

We're out here dying inside

We're out there growing old

Is that why I feel so tongue-tied?

You ask me what's the difference

You say my hair still looks the same

As it has always done

But I know it never curled up

I wish it just fell down straight the way it always did

I feel the lack of control

I feel my belly ache with every passing day

It must have been so easy in those days when everything was new

I feel newly aged

You know where I'm going

But I don't have a fucking clue
