As it digs for a meaning in the gray

The ruin will keep the fire from fading

The morning you sought clairvoyance in memory

Never again. Hide from lanterns light

All the times you've had your reasons to blame yourself

Who was I to make you feel this way?

And what can I say? It's not the real thing

Not even close. Though we make it so.

And what do you expect me to say?

When I cannot believe that words have fallen this short

As I began to read the seasons

I've learned this place is null with empty ghosts.

And I have slept for close to half of a century

And I can't shake the thought

Falling closer

I can't break this off

Falling into you

And the ruin caused a sound

Forced to hide underground

Hope to be safe & sound

Will I ever escape this town

I can't hold on to a ghost town

When the thoughts and the motions

Are immune to the sound of the rain
