Then I’m asking for permission

And Hit send

Then a response

I ask for amendments

While I write more lyrics

Meanwhile pretending

I know what I’m doing

Tryna forget that I am

But Claiming to be so incredible, man

I stand up on a pedestal

To try to prove that I am

than I guess I’d better try

My side job always staying right by my side

But out my music of course

I stay high up on my horse

And top a hill on my golf course

But then I’m rolling down, head pounding in morse

But all I really want to see is music on the page

So I fill up all my lines with heartbreak and rage

And I fill up all my lines with decisions I’ll make

Once I get all of the money that’ll come from my big break

Yet nothing gets released which I guess means I must be scared

And these are the excuses that I make

I’m chalking it all up to people that doing it their way and then telling me that I’m wrong

But I know it’s not that easy to pawn off my problems to

Fate or people telling me that I’m aint enough to get through

I know I’m smart I know I’m blessed I know all my problems are easy at best

I don’t have much to get off of my chest

My average grade is 100 on tests

I know that I’m asking for mockery

And every celebrity knows

Traveling through this life

Everybody gonna have foes

So I jump into process

Yeah the process leads to loss

And it leads to long nights

It burns in scars and darkens the highlights

But do you know what else was hard work?

The New York City skyline

Do you look at of those buildings, thinking there was no hard times?

Hard work and perseverance

Are everything it defines

I apply that to my life

And give myself a mind that’s limitless

So I’ll build NYC I’m fine to leave all of you behind

Asking yourself whether you’d trade off beauty for rest time

And that’s the reason I keep scheming

Even when I’ve got a team of

Experts telling me that I should probably give the dream up

But don’t lose hope because I don’t intend on giving up on
