Approaching Storms

Far out in the distance I see the dark clouds form

But everything here is calm and peaceful. Is it the calm before the storm

Should I prepare for what is coming? Or will it pass by the way

I have a choice; I may do nothing. Leave it to chance, come what may

Approaching storms are all around us

We just need to open our eyes

We may decide to look beyond them, to our demise

I see the dark clouds now are growing and there's a change in the air

Can I put it off a little longer? Will I still have time to spare

Maybe I've been somewhat complacent, maybe ignoring all the signs

I may have been a little lazy, hoping that all would be fine

Approaching storms are all around us

We may decide to look beyond them, to our demise

I hope I've learned a vital lesson from the damage left behind

I know I'll pay for my inactions, no consolation would I find
