There’s a verse in the Bible

I learned as a child

It’s the beautiful promise

Of John 3:16

How God sent His only Son

That whosoever will may come

And though I didn’t understand it then

Now I can see

That someone like me,

After all that I’ve done,

Could be ransomed and redeemed

By God’s only Son

Now eternity awaits

For those who believe

I’m glad that “Whosoever will”

Came calling down from Calvary’s hill

To gladly welcome someone like me

Still I can’t conceive the grace
