I went down to an old time alter I got up a new man

I left that road that was paved with heartache,

bound for a heavenly land

I made a right turn on the grand old highway,

started looking ahead

I found this road to be better than my way,

walking where Jesus led

And now I'll follow Him

Follow everyday headed down the gloryland way

Jesus is always there
