The New Frontier

Ladies and gentlemen

No man can fully grasp how far and how fast we have come

On the new frontier of space

We have felt the ground shake and the air shattered

For the greatest exploration that the world has ever known

We will have literally reached the stars before midnight tonight

For the eyes of the world now look into space

And we set sail on this new ocean

To the moon and to the planets beyond

But why the moon?

Why choose this as our goal?

Why climb the highest mountain?

Because there is new knowledge to be gained

And it is one of the great adventures of all time

Because that challenge we're willing to accept

Not because they are easy

But because they are hard

Some would have us stay where we are

To rest, to wait

But man in his quest for knowledge

Was not built by those who waited and rested

We set sail on this spacecraft of freedom

And we have vowed
