Guilty

Today I didn't open up the sandbox

Didn't make the meatballs from scratch

I've been counting down the hours

Til I an pour myself some wine

Put the kids to bed and try to relax

But the laundry list just keeps on getting longer

And the laundry isn't gonna fold itself

If I didn't go the extra mile

I might as well have finished last

Why am I so hard on myself

I've already handed out my sentence

Faster than the toughest jury can

Sitting in the weight of my conviction

As the courtroom stands

Why do I keep feeling guilty

For doing the best I can

So what if it ain't all picture perfect

And we're just living in the mess outside the frame

I'll still be counting all my crimes

All the wrongs outweigh the rights

And I'll convince myself that I'm the one to blame
