Silently Trotting Alone

Silently trotting alone

A sea of faces

All of them much like my own

With a loneliness

Devouring all of our homes

I love you

But I don't know how to say so

I guess I'll just shut my mouth

Someday, I'll have a place

But, for now

I'm silently trotting alone

I'm wandering here on my own

Just when I think I'm alone

I hear a voice

A holler from the unknown

Impatient

To tell me I have a new home

With friends that love me

And want to call me their own

So why do I do it all on my own
