Today Is the Day

I got up this morning with a message in my head Said everyday you're breathing is a day for breaking bread I opened my window To feel the breeze and smell the roses I looked to the trees and At the top was a humming bird's nest Today's the day I know everything is worth it I want to play and dance around Like it's your birthday Nothing to go wrong We're sure to get our way so we'll say If you're glad then sing along And if you're not you'd better move along 'Cause we're having our fun I poured me a cup of joe Then I brushed my teeth I ran out the door to go work For the company driving the streets I see a man lying underneath a tree I pulled to my right and rolled down my window And gave him all my money Today's the day I know everything is worth it I want to play and dance around like it's a parade Nothing to go wrong We're sure to get our way so we say If you're glad then sing along And if you're not you better move along If you're glad then sing along And if you're not you better move along On the walk to my office I see faces of grim I look to my left then my right And wonder what country I'm in They say we're in the land of the free And the home of the brave So won't you get up and celebrate with me Today it's a beautiful day And we know that life is worth it We want to play and dance around Like it's your birthday Nothing to go wrong We're sure to get our way so we'll say If you're glad then sing along And if you're not you better move along If you're glad then sing along And if you're not you better move along 'Cause we're having our fun
