Saul Hudson, known professionally as Slash, is a British-American songwriter, producer, and performer best known as lead guitarist for the hard rock band Guns Nā Roses.
ā While still with GNāR, he formed the supergroup side-project Slashās Snakepit, whose 1995 debut album, Itās Five OāClock Somewhere, sold more than a million copies worldwide.
ā In 2002, Slash joined the supergroup Velvet Revolver, whose single āSlitherā won the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
ā Rolling Stone included him among their 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, and TIME ranked him No. 2 on their list of the 10 Greatest Electric-Guitar Playersābehind Jimi Hendrix.
ā Slash, his chart-topping 2010 solo debut, featured an all-star cast of musicians, including Iggy Pop, Fergie, Lemmy, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Dave Grohl.
ā Along with his bandmates in the classic lineup of Guns Nā Roses, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
ā His 2014 solo album, World on Fire, spent half a year on Billboardās Hard Rock Albums chart, peaking at No. 1.
