Chi è Velvet Revolver
Rock supergroups don’t get much bigger than Velvet Revolver. Back in 2002, three then-lapsed members of Guns N’ Roses—guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Matt Sorum—rekindled their chemistry after jamming together at a benefit show. Later, the group added Slash’s childhood friend Dave Kushner, a versatile punk and hard-rock guitarist, and singer Scott Weiland, whose schedule had been freed up due to Stone Temple Pilots’ split. With the lineup finalized, Velvet Revolver crystallized its sound on its 2004 debut album, Contraband, dabbling in bluesy aggression (“Big Machine”), hard-rock swagger (“Slither”), and epic power balladry (“Fall to Pieces”). The band’s second album, 2007’s Libertad, reflected greater confidence owing to an intense touring schedule, with the psychedelic highlight “She Mine” hinting at exciting new directions. Unfortunately, Velvet Revolver parted ways with Weiland in 2008 and, save for a reunion at a 2012 benefit show, became inactive.
