One Step Beyond

Can I see clearly through the haze nothing makes sense the truth a maze

the power of an alternate world I crave to the book I will become a slave

in the interests of mankind I took this course seeking redemption for better or for worse

opening the book to open new doors as time went by I felt no remorse

finding the power I desired so long never taking the time to wonder if I was wrong

captured in amazement by the surrounding throng I decided this was where I belonged

the mists cloud all reality and perception have I made the right selection
