Shot an arrow in my heart the very first day Had the names picked out and the color of the paint Forever is how long she was gonna stay

Til sunshine and roses started fadin' Couldn't read her mind and I couldn't change it So much for the love that we were makin'

And thinkin' we would make it

Straight to the finish line, that's where I thought her and I Were headed til it all went south

My heart hit the floor when she pulled the rug out And left me in the light of day, I didn't know what to say Cuz of all the things that I saw coming

She's the one I didn't see going

Saw the spot in the drive where she was gonna park Saw her name next to mine written in the stars Wind in our sails, foot on the gas

Yeah we were flyin' fast

Straight to the finish line, that's where I thought her and I Were headed til it all went south

My heart hit the floor when she pulled the rug out And left me in the light of day, I didn't know what to say Cuz of all the things that I saw coming

She's the one I didn't see going

Going off the rails, gone without a trace Took me by surprise thought we were on our way

Straight to the finish line, that's where I thought her and I Were headed til it all went south

My heart hit the floor when she pulled the rug out And left me in the light of day, I didn't know what to say Cuz of all the things that I saw coming

She's the one I didn't see going
