Well, I’m a Michigan boy who came to the city

learned about strip clubs and big fake titilizing conversations about who knows who and who has what and who doesn’t have a clue

one thing I’ve learned about these big city people ain’t nobody heard about no Church Steeple

I work my 9 to 5. I bust my back all day come Friday night. I wanna go out and play, no honey how was your day just holds out her hand in a blink of an eye that papers gone in a flash

well there’s no time for crying. It’s my time to rock.

I head on down to the Honkytonk.

Well, these big city lights can be blinding sometimes you gotta slow it down and keep your eye on the prize.

You gotta blow off some steam. If you know what I mean

get in sit down hold on.

When the band starts, playing we’ll be all right ain’t slowing down until they turn off the lights no matter who you are look like or talk you don’t have to be a hillbilly to Honky Tonk.

When I walk into the club, everyone knows my name a red carpet for everyone trying to play the game We’ve got slickers and rockers, rednecks and hip-hop hoppers.

We’re all one in the same trying to play the game

We’ve all cleaned up, it’s our time to shine so let’s pull out them guns cause it’s hunting time .
