Testi

I can’t believe I was born when the world was falling apart. We did well enough for so long with what we were born into. Our world is a miracle; just being here is a simple privilege. But it wasn’t enough. Our ancestors’ addiction we carry in our veins. It has spread like cancer not only within and through us but to everything we touch and see.
And it wasn’t enough to destroy one planet. Now, we’re wondering how to take from the moon and how to colonize Mars. Is there water there? Are there minerals? Let’s harvest the minerals to power the cars to get to work that destroys our will to live so they can drink thawed Mars waters while the rising sea brings the rest of us in. For those far enough not to drown, they will burn.
That is, assuming they survive whatever the Cold World War III will lead to. Ukraine is here, Gaza is here. We are all immigrants in a world plagued with xenophobic hypernationalism. Our addiction means nothing will ever be enough, and nobody will ever be deserving of our love.
This denial of our most basic instincts tears us apart. With every passing second, another rip in the seams of our minds, hearts, and souls. This is why we are all just hanging on by threads.
What’s that I’m hearing from inside of your head?
Your twisted fantasies have become my reality.
What’s that you’re leaking from insanity?
Your cunning visions are now all I can see.
I meant to be more than a shell of myself,
What’s left, you’ll take and run away from me.
I hate how much I share in common with you.
I hate that part of you is part of me, too.
