I came back to Dead Lantern
With a coin in my throat
The sheriff was ashes
The church was a joke
A glyph in the mailbox
No stamp, just a claw
Red, your name's been erased
But your debt's still in law
Met a man made of gunpowder
Teeth carved from bone
He said bury the silence
But dig it alone
Was it blood or a bribe?
Did I choose it or choke?
Was she flesh, was she fire?
Or a lie that I wrote?
Now the map folds itself and the trail turns to smoke
But alright cause the end never gives what it owes
We pass through a quarry where statues confess
One blinked in Morse code
Said there's nothing to guess
He told me the treasure's a metaphor mostly
Then he grinned like a preacher who's lost all his rosary
The wind played blackjack
With dust and regret
He vanished mid-step
Left his coat and a debt
There were sigils in ash
There were names carved in wax
A door in the earth that would open and laugh I heard
Her something Reciting old vows In a dialect taught
Only to fear a light ounce
She said gold is just longing
That never decays
Then vanished in static
And hallelujah haze
Saw a crow in a top hat
With a ledger of sins
He said you've died three times
This one just begins
My boots filled with echoes
The sky turned a lid
I followed a shadow through a graveyard of thread
Each tomb bore a riddle
Each riddle of feet
And the punchline was always
You'll never be free
She waited by a furnace
Shaped like a bell
With a voice like a violin
Tuning in hell
Said you brought back the burden
But left out the song
Then kissed me with silence
That stretched twelve years long
I traded my name
For a stone and a flame
And left through a mirror
That never said my name
Was it blood or a bride?
Did I choose it or choke?
Was she flesh, was she fire?
Or a lie that I wrote?
Now the map folds itself
And the trail turns to smoke
But I ride cause the end never gives what it owes
