He was bored with those cheesy bars but tonight when his boy called
He was too tired to fight
So he hauled ass if he wanted a ride
He had to be ready in five
Naturally he didn't want to drive
Couldn't afford the cash for a taxi
He was saving it for drinking
A necessity for tacky clubs like Illusions
Where guys and gals alike chug paralyzing triples
And rock tight shirts through which boner nipples are easily visible
And you can still dance the Humpty
He felt jumpy got dressed quickly
And only now noticed how dumpy looking that old t-shirt was
But he's working on a buzz
And so he ain't about to sweat it
Just playing the wall
Making fun of everybody with their Ricky Martin haircuts
And her
Fate couldn't have tossed her a worse day
To be committed to celebrating her best friend's birthday
But she was trapped in the bar her ex most often frequents
Whom she almost slapped in their most
Recent encounter just hours before
He lives a few doors down
And so she sees more of him than she wishes
This prick's been downright vicious
Today he called her a bitch cause she
Wouldn't take a gift from him for Christmas
How many times had she told him
Let's just call this quits
Just wave and not talk like we were mimes
The only thing that held us together
This last year was time previously spent
And high school's over so your perpetually
Bent and un-sober state ain't cute no more
He told her she still had the nicest tits he'd ever seen
She told him to go fuck himself
Turned around tripped over the first stair to her front door
Bruising her shin in the process
He just finished smoking some shrubs
With some scrub that he didn't know
And missed the thank you pound mandatory in the clubs
Not that he didn't want to show love
But was stricken when he fell victim to the jaw-
Dropping trance that accompanies being smitten
A second chance perhaps had presented itself
He didn't see that goon boyfriend of hers on her arm
Debated and decided staying high couldn't do no harm
Little did he know she been waiting for him to notice her
She's happy to see him but that smile's completely bogus
Her girlfriends uncharacteristically almost got in a fight
And the prick shamelessly monitored her all night
The younger kid from math class
He never stared at her chest
Half-interestedly holding half-assed conversations
Their connection was genuine she warmly embraced him
He felt adrenaline surge
He could barely stand
She couldn't quash the urge
So she held his hand
While they conversed and watched the drunks slosh
Around to canned music from a myriad of boy pop bands
For a split second felt like everything stopped and
Their paths were reconciled without any talking
They both just knew that they'd be seeing a lot
More of each other as they headed for the door
Hit the coat check before the exit to split
He's having trouble with the zipper so she pulled off
Her mitt to assist when she saw guess who behind him
He asked whatever happened to what's his name
No chance to remind him before the punches started flying
Accompanied by the sickening snap of skin striking skin
Blow after blow landing
Her ex-man's a brute with hams for hands
And he's a runt whose frame is even more slight than hers
She grabbed the can of mace just behind the penlight in her purse
Dispersed its vile contents about her villain's eyes and nose
Time froze for the second time tonight
As that mammoth motherfucker rose into the air
Landed on his nose at the foot of the frozen stairs
She used her bare hands to choke the final
Breath out of her antagonist to ensure death
I hate this Johnny
I really do
I hate violence
This was a night to remember
You know the bond is strong
This was a night to remember
You know the bond is strong
Now it's an hour later
And they're trying to catch a cab but all the drivers are
Scared to pick up the man with the frozen blood in his hair
Still bleeding from the earlier beating
The biggest secret either of them had ever shared
Was stashed beneath the trees beside the entrance
She encountered hesitance to put it mildly
When she asked for help hiding the body
His eyes wildly hopped from her to the concrete
Concrete to her
When a couple approached
The dude in fleece the dame in fur
She hugged the carcass which just looked really hammered
As he rocked to and fro in shock
When they passed he managed to stammer some sort of agreement
And behind the trees the lifeless body went
She led him by the shaky hand and calmly walked away
Now they huddle in a bus shack just blocks away
Their minds muddled messes of unanswered questions about fate
And how to top killing an ex and fleeing on their first date
Well they first made a pact to be each other's first mates
Bonded for life by death
Then they hatched a first-rate plan to pay
Late night visits to each other's workplace
He worked at a thrift shop
She worked at a gift shop
In order to pull this off no time for even a pit stop
But it all hangs on who that creeping car's being driven by
A cop or a cabbie
A ride to freedom or prison
This was a night to remember
You know the bond is strong
This was a night to remember
You know the bond is strong
This was a night to remember
You know the bond is strong
This was a night to remember
You know the bond is strong
This was a night to remember
You know the bond is strong
