Westwind was a giant
A man of fearsome size
His face was wrinkled leather
And piercing blue his eyes
He hated bad with passion
An all-consuming fire
Running down the wicked
No. Never did he tire
His badge of shining silver
Flashing in the sun
brighter light came blazing
From the barrel of his gun
No blades could ever cut him
Nor bullets slow his course
Justice he brought swiftly
Feeling no remorse
Westwind' s hands were fastest
Fastest on the draw
Hear the boom, see the flash
Fall upon the floor
Ride as fast as bullets
Seek the darkest room
Westwind always finds his man
And blows him to his tomb
The first time that I saw him
I swear that this is true
A whirlwind swirled around him
And lifted him from view
He rode that twisting storm
Toward where I was hid
Thought my life was over
I'd reckon for my sin
But he blew right by me
And westward he did ride
The wind became a stallion
With pale-colored hide
Those in town were drinking
As trouble rode their way
They lied and schemed and cheated
Like any other day
He wore a guise to test them
A frail and weak old man
Asking them for kindness
A gentle helping hand
They used their hands to beat him
They felt no shred of guilt
By violence they had ruled this town
On blood it had been built
They drew their guns and aimed them
Then froze in place with fright
On their neck, they felt a breeze
The noose was drawing tight
Too late they saw him rising
Too late for them to run
They heard the boom, they felt the pain
Of justice being done
A whirlwind fell upon the town
Sucked the surface clean
Not a trace of it remained
Nothing heard or seen
This story is a warning
To those who practise wrong
Each time you see a whirlwind
Think about this song
Westwind's surely coming
To right your many wrongs
Enjoy the things you've stolen
You won't enjoy them long!
