Unrest

As I push onward

You claim that the songbird

Has lost his voice

A lack of direction

Upon further inspection

It was his choice

To stop singing

A lack of reactions

Avoiding abstraction

Forever it seems

That I progress

But I am at rest

A rusty machine

I don’t belong under your reign

I need to forge my own direction

It can’t be like this

Anymore

String it together

And forget the weather

It never gives in

(In)side the thought balloon

An ellipsis stands alone

Is that all there is?

(I don’t think so)

When I was a young man

I gave away my hands

Discarded for love

Love is a concept

An unfathomable precept

That I’ll transcend above

I’ve buried my only purpose

I will reclaim what I’ve forgotten

I will reach for more

I’ll claim the sky
