Suffocation Blues

A woman sits in her bedroom

And pulls a comb through her hair

Studies the lines on her face that tell her the years that went nowhere

Holding tight to the memories

She’s carrying ‘round in her head

She tells herself that she’s not going down

And spends another day in bed

But she’s doing the best she can

Maybe that’s not good enough

But she’s doing all she can

Yes she’s making the best of her suffocation blues

So why should he try or care
