Phantasma

Is this phantasma

Or a fracture in my mind

Lonely hill decaying in the midst of snow

Greying walls draped in black

Melancholy of my soul

It starts slowly

An edge of darkness creeping in

Now like the flooding of the ghost inside my rotting skin

This uncertain feeling forcing itself in

I hear whispers from behind

The locked doors of my mind

A scent of ash

A gust of wind

Beginning of the end

An everpresent projection

Is tracing the connection

To the mind's eye

Behind the shrouded veil

My nerves frozen in the fear

I can sense a presence here

Polychromatic glimmers

Despair like fog in the air

A change in aura

Apparitions appear

Beckoning for a final dance

Is this phantasma

Locked in a duet of black eyes

All sense of comfort dissipates

I'm left here all alone

Fear

Nothing can sanely exist in absolute reality

An everpresent projection

Is tracing the connection

To the mind's eye

Behind the shrouded veil

My nerves frozen in the fear

I can sense a presence here

The revenant appears

Is this phantasma

Or the figment of my fractured mind
