We read the stories on the lines between the stars

We shouted back at them, they wouldn't let us start

Changing the narrative of who we're supposed to be

But when I look in the mirror

Thumbtack, pointed you out

Dead planet holding freight

We've since ceased to create but still we're satellites at arm's length

Spinning like your favorite record from a long-expired band

We're lightning in the sand

We've lost the plan to change your crooked ways
