The "Me"

At a crossroads in my being

When the heck did I grow up? I can’t make

Myself like things I used to

Can’t seem to get unstuck

Feel abused by my conscience

She tells me I’m not enough

I lay in bed at night and panic

She’s still there when I wake up

What am I doing

Where do I go?

What if I died here laying in this snow

Trying to keep my cool?

Man I wished I’d learned about this in school

I am human

I know that much

Sometimes I fail

And my dreams get crushed

So are they silly?

Have I wasted too much time?

Help of any sort is needed

Send my soul to the “me” I’m trying to find
