Apathy

Some days you're deep in yourself

Some days you're staring at me

Some days I wake up in hell

Bleeding apathy

Someday I'll lift my head from the sand

And finally I'll see

That I was never wrong

And you were never happy

The only constant is pressure

Black and white always lead to grey

Deep inside, you'll nurse your disappointment

Wisdom almost never comes with age

For once in my life, I'll actually let it go

Or at least I'll try to release the pain

But that's only me, you take care of yourself

Apathy loves company

Less is more or so they say

So I guess I'll just calm down

Stumbling through another day

My hollow eyes spin around

Inside my mind there's an empty space

Void of light and sound

Lain to rest, you've found your place

Six feet underground

Felt my lung collapse in earnest

Guess that I deserve to be empty

But keep an ear out

I'll never not be here

Sure, maybe I've earned it

But don't confuse this with envy

You're the one that left

And apathy loves company

Say your peace, Stain your sheets in the blood

It's dust that made the man I was

And it's dust I shall become

Less is more or so they say

So I guess I'll just calm down
