Little Ones

The little ones look up to me

still faithful ones not yet alone

they live in fear the little ones

soon to be torn from horn to tail

by everything above the grass

by everything that winds within

sun come blanch wind come take

the bones of all the little ones

the time will come for simple ones

treasure them anxiously

who lived in fear as faithful ones

still faithful ones with simple fears

the little ones look up to me

still wandering not yet alone
