Somebody asked me an interesting question yesterday

They asked me do I sample at all

Don't get it wrong I love original production, you know, I create that

But I also love, you know, sampling

I mean it's nothing like walking into your favorite record store

Walking down your favorite aisle

Going through records

And, then, boom

Covers just hit you

And, you know, you let the imagination run, you know

The possibilities that what could sound this record

You know, just thinking about things that, you know, that's on this record

What you could possibly mess around with

You know, it's a beautiful thing for me

That question also reminded me of, uh

The beauty of sampling and, uh

Just letting the record play

And finding your favorite parts of the record

And snatching it up and recreating something totally new

And usually an idea will come to me

Might be in the middle of the session

Might be in the car or some shit

With my kid or some shit

Smoking on some shit
